Yes, that's right. Pretentious?

I'll agree it's not so great to not be yourself. And yet... what if losing yourself to what you're stretching to become is what you're about? Should we let somebody's box of who we are keep us from acting? (Especially when it's a rather sane act?)

Just because we don't understand something doesn't mean they don't. That doesn't make them pretentious.

Pretentious is a word we use to shut those different from us down. To remove their power. To cancel out their concepts we don't understand.

I'm just on about this because... well... on some level I have to believe that what I'm doing is worthwhile. You may not get it. I may not get it. None of this pretends to be authoritative. My work does presume the freedom to do whatever it wants. You don't have to like it so... haha.

Here's a bunch of stuff over at tumblr... happy moths is a more recent thing. some single frame comics called "HEE"... obviously a bit more rough looking that yr average comic in the paper. that's how i roll. You'll see some links in there to my wordpress install... globeards. Globeards is mostly poetry. A few non-poetic things appear but... it's newer as well.

I'll probably be dragging both of those places into this page along with other things as I get this going. I've got a bunch of older work that i'll get into here. Part of the reason for this site at all is to try to gather all my work together over the years. Build a portfolio, etc. The goal as near as I can tell is try to get involved in more interesting work... whether that's a new job at some point... or some open source project... or art school. More importantly, I think getting some momentum about where I've been should help me keep moving. I have had a couple serious projects in mind for way too long. It's getting make or break.

It's time to put up or shut up... or maybe I really am pretending. Do we have the courage to actually be ourselves? I think... I think so. A better world is possible. (It's probable.)
