so as a kid i found out about jesus.
hand grenadeless and not a swindler.
epitome of goodness.
a perfect shot.
loves us.
despite the murder and associated crimes of
passion and procreation.
but little can he do for our love of ourselves.
and in the race to be like jesus, one can only experience failure.
so i hated myself.
so as a kid i found out about toys.
plastic hand grenades and stealing matchbox cars.
commercials convincing epitome of good,
our guide to happiness,
love yourself,
yet in poverty you'll drown in a sea of rejection and conviction that
owning and experiencing will bring you love,
so little can gijoe or record do for the love of ourselves.
little can seeing xyz play at the jkl do.
and in the ultimate race to be rich, one can only experience failure
so i hated myself.
guides to acceptance,
dropped into puddles over time,
ink smeared and misunderstood by blind, learning eyes,
and deaf ears.
i can only pray in time misunderstanding will turn into dust on my skin.
